TRIP HIGHLIGHTS Experience an unforgettable journey through time on this 2-night guided adventure in Buena Vista, Colorado. Camp on the Arkansas River next to railroad ruins in an area once known for gold-panning. Explore St. Elmo's Ghost Town, nestled deep in the Rocky Mountains. Hike the Sawatch Range for a unique overlook of the iconic Collegiate Peaks, nicknamed the Avenue of Fourteeners. Soak your bones in private natural hot springs steeped with beauty and history. Relax by the bonfire, stargazing with like-minded adventurous souls, and catch a new perspective of life in Colorado. ACTIVITIES - Bonfire Party - Ghost Town Tour - Moderate Hike - Private Hot Springs - Riverside Yoga This trip is rated as moderate. Participants should be capable of hiking 5-7 miles (5-6 hours hiking time) carrying a light daypack. We will be traveling at high elevation between 10,000' and 11,500' where the thinner air can be challenging in terms of performance. ITINERARY Day 1: Arrive at camp by 6:00 pm, set up camp, and we'll welcome the weekend with a bonfire happy hour. Enjoy storytelling by the fire as you get to know one another and the history, ecology, and geology of the river, ridges, and ruins nearby. Day 2: Greet the morning with a riverside breakfast before heading into the mountains. Explore a small ghost town on foot led by your guide and discover the lore of a once-thriving silver mining town. Embark on a moderate 7-mile out and back hike to a ridgeline and enjoy a picnic lunch with a view at the summit. On the way back to camp, stop by natural hot springs to soak in a private riverside pool. Back at camp, end the day with cocktails under the stars. Day 3: The last day begins with a gentle yoga flow led by your guide, then breakfast by the water's edge. Break camp after eating, but just because you have to leave doesn't mean you have to go home! Check out local points of interest with a self-guided itinerary provided by your guide upon departure. Cancellation & Refund Policy The following time frames govern HG Adventure Co’s obligation to refund any payments made by guests: Sixty or more days prior to departure: deposit and all other payments refunded. Between 30-59 days prior to departure: deposit not refunded; all other payments refunded. Less than 30 days prior to departure: full payment not refunded; Balance of payments refunded only if HG Adventure Co is able to re-sell your booking to another client. If you cancel your booking less than 30-days prior to departure, HG Adventure Co will make every reasonable effort to re-sell your booking. However, HG Adventure Co is under no obligation to take any extraordinary measures to try to fill your spot on the trip.
